She Cards first went online in August of 1997; we are currently celebrating our sixth year of providing electronic greetings to the lesbian community. When She Cards first went online, our mission was simple: to provide tasteful, romantic greetings for lesbians. Nowadays, this doesn't seem like much, but back in 1997 gay and lesbian specific electronic greetings were virtually nonexistent, and what did exist was laregly pornographic. Way back when, we even had difficulty getting She Cards indexed in any popular search engines, simply because one of our keywords is "lesbian."

We feel very fortunate that the Internet community has changed drastically for the better since then for the GLBT community. We also like to think that we played a significant role in making these changes to the online greeting card business; we are happy to report that, since going online in 1997 when virtually no major electronic greeting card site carried GLBT cards, now almost all of them do.

In spite of these positive changes, She Cards continues to provide the largest selection of lesbian electronic greetings on the Internet. We've got more than 200 cards in our database, and we are growing every month. Since the rollout of our new subscription service, we hope to be able to provide even more great images with the revenues generated from the site.

It has been with enormous pleasure that we have brought this much needed service to the lesbian community, and we hope to be doing so for many more years to come. The wonderful feedback from users we've gotten over the years has kept us committed to She Cards, even during the tougher financial times of the dot-com world. It is thanks to our users that we are still going strong, and are now better than ever.
